Little Foxes by Michael Morpurgo

The story takes a turn when Billy discovers an abandoned wilderness area near a canal. There, he finds a den of foxes. He feels a kinship with a small fox cub—another “outsider”—and begins to care for the family. When their habitat is threatened by developers, Billy takes a desperate and brave journey to save his foxes, eventually finding a sense of home and belonging for himself.
