The Nine Lives of Montezuma

The story begins with the birth of Montezuma (Monty) in a dark, hay-filled barn. He is the runt of the litter, born to a semi-wild farm cat. His first “life” is a struggle for basic survival—competing for milk and avoiding the dangers of a working farm. He is eventually discovered and adopted by the farmer’s son, Matthew, which marks his transition from a wild creature to a beloved pet.
